Back in business
A couple of months ago I decided that I needed to get rid of all unnecessary costs. I figured that my internet subscription was one of those unnecessary things. After all, I had internet on my phone and also: I always had two wireless internet connections available to log on to. Some unknowing neighbors who didn’t password-protect them surely wouldn’t mind me using them. Right? So, me, the dumb internet junkie, thought I could do without my own adsl connection. Me, the DUMB internet junkie, thought wrong! It took less than two weeks for my neighbors to block me out of their wifi by password-protecting it. But I still had my phone. I wasn’t worried. Yet.
I despise my phone now. Despise! It’s useless. I can’t update my blog from my phone.. I can’t download my series from my phone. I can’t watch surfthechannel.com on my phone. I can’t do freakin’ anything on my phone!!!
So, after three months of frustration I finally took the sensible route and I ordered a new internet subscription. I made some dumb choices in my life.. giving up internet is on the top of that list. You need it for everything! I couldn’t even transfer some money without dragging my laptop to my parents/my work/the public library first. I don’t know how people survived 15 years ago when internet was non-existent. It’s kind of scary how it’s such a big part of our every day life now.
Anyway.. I’m glad to be back on my laptop in my bed, without having to hold my laptop in the air by the window to maybe catch that wifi from 2 blocks over that I sometimes got to use for 1 minute before it disappeared again.
Because of the lack of internet I haven’t even posted that our cinema won with the Murphy in his sunglasses competition! Look how cute our Marmaduke stuffed animal is!
He looks even cooler with his huge sunglasses on, but those already got stolen

Murphy the moviestar
My apologies for my last post, which is full of typos and bad sentences. I blame it on my exhaustion of the moment that I typed it

I spent the last hour photoshopping Murphy for a contest our cinema wants to win. The movie Marmaduke is coming out this summer and the distributor challenged every cinema to promote it in the most original way possible. In turn the cinema can win a GIANT marmaduke dog (a stuffed dog, mind you). Of course, we want to win!! So I tortured Murphy for a photo shoot and this is the result.
Shini, you will probably cringe at the bad photos and photoshopping. But hey, I had no time and even if I had it would still be cringe-worthy ’cause i suck at it :s. Murphy makes them hilarious nonetheless though .
Murph the hogger
Murphy was a bit upset that I posted a pic of a cute dog that wasn’t him on here. To make sure that I’d talk about him being cute this next time he allowed me to take some pics of his ridiculous way of waking me up in the morning.

Actually, I’m pretty sure he thinks it’s his bed and he’s merely tolerating me in it. And only under the condition that I rub his belly in the morning.
To assure that I will in fact rub his belly he will do everything he can to make it easier for me to reach his belly, all the while making it more comfortable and relaxing for him.
The result is one ridiculous looking puppy.
He’s still cute though.
And yeah. I’m an idiot for letting that huge dog hog all the covers.
My 1st iPhone vid
Murphy almost ate my new white iphone while filming it, but that didn’t spoil the fun of discovering that the 3gs has a videocamera! (isn’t it funny how this excites me while all my old crappy phones even had a video camera and it’s kind of ridiculous that the 3g didn’t have one?)

Sometimes when I come home from a long day of work I don’t get the warm welcome I expect. Instead I get something else. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves.

A little while ago an Italian journalist emailed me about a photo of Murphy I have on Flickr. She was writing an article, on Rhodesian Ridgebacks that hunt, for an Italian hunting magazine and she asked if she could use my picture. She selected about 30 pictures and then her editor would choose the ones used for the article.
Today she sent me scans of the article and MURPHY IS A PHOTO MODEL!!!!!

The little snippet says (according to freetranslation.com) something like ‘Murphy on the hunt. The high brushwood reminds of the African bush, but the photograph was taken in Hungary, by the owner of the dog’.
Yup. I’m a proud mama.
Norwegian Recycling
I sutmbled across these mashups a while back when I was looking for a new Missy Higgins song. It’s pretty brilliant how this guy combines all the songs. My favorite mashup is the next one. It includes the songs:

Murphy ‘n Sync
I was browsing an old online diary that I kept before I started this site and came upon some really cool photos of Murphy so I thought I’d re-post them here.

These were taken on Mach 26, 2007. So he was about 1 year and 4 months old.. you can also see the scar on his ass from when he was bitten by another Ridgeback (not Thako). I can’t believe that was over 2 years ago… how time flies!
