Lowlands
Time flies when .. well, doesn’t it always fly?
Next Thursday it’s time to leave civil life for a campingflight to lowlands paradise and enjoy 4 days of loads of music, loads of noise, loads of dirt, loads of nasty toilets, loads of drinks and no sleep at all. Can’t wait! :p
I tried to figure out which bands I want to see, but it’s impossible to make a selection. I made a quick scan and highlighted the ones I think I want to see, but as you can see it will be impossible to see them all. I do know I’ll be walking around a lot again.

On a more domestic note. I “organized” a poker evening for my friends this weekend. With organized I mean that I invited them and then let my friend, who works at Holland Casino, take over for the rest of the evening 
. It was a lot of fun and I do believe everyone had a great time. I also enjoyed preparing the snacks for the evening. I’m not very good at cooking, but sometimes I like to pretend I am. So I made crostini’s. They were yummie! After nearly burning my eyebrows off while getting the crostini’s out of the oven I made three kinds of toppings.
One with grilled tomato, mozarella and anchovy (what a weird combo – but very yummie!)
one with grilled leek and pancetta
and one with grilled paprika and saffron mayonaise.
I was supposed to also make one with grilled nectarine and prosciutto, but I forgot 
.

Helluuuu,
It’s been a while since I picked up the guitar. Mainly because I was so busy stressing out about school. But, school is over now. WOOHOOOO!!!! (still can’t believe it!)
So.. there’s time for fun stuff again. Fun stuff of course also including learning some guitar again. I still can’t play Let it Be from the last time very well. Although I do know how to play the whole melody now (but that’s no fun!). I started practicing Wonderwall from Oasis today. It’s such a fun little part to play! Thanks to Joris for telling me it’s easy and fun!

Tunin’ Tuesday on Monday
So.
I haven’t been posting my weekly guitar progress as I said I would. Big surprise there! lol
I actually stopped taking guitar lessons. It turned out I didn’t have the time or money for it. Go figure. I had to choose.. tennis or guitar lessons.. since there are lots of youtube and printed guitar lessons on the internet I decided to stop the guitar lessons. Doesn’t mean I’ll stop practicing though.
I made a little video of my latest progress. It’s crap. And I’m crap. But there you go.
I don’t really have anything else to talk about. It’s been a boring week.. been working on my thesus.. and hating every second of it. The weather has been brilliant though! I’ve been enjoying some cruising in my scimitar with Muse blasting from the speakers. (they’re song Uprising is the BEST listen-to-while-driving-in-the-sun-with-the-wind-in-your-hair-kind-of-thing song!) Had some lovely walks with Murph in the sunshine and of course I enjoyed some beers in the sun with my friends . So yeah.. when I say I have been working on my thesus, I mean that I’ve spent little time working on my thesus and loads of time thinking about how I should be working on my thesus, while doing something else entirely.
I’m really looking forward to Queensnight/day. It’s next thursday and at the beginning of the evening I have to fulfill my barkeeper duties at the tennisclub, but after that we’re going to Amsterdam to partaaay.
Tunin’ Tuesday
So. I’ve decided to make a weekly vid of my guitar progression/lesson. I’m doing this for me because I think it’ll be fun to see the progress in a while (let’s hope for progress). It might be embarrassing now, but you know, maybe someday it won’t be as embarrassing because I’ll be fantabulously good!! :p
So… if you think it’s stupid than just ignore my vids and.. you know.. stop visiting this site

This week I feel like I took two steps back instead of one forward. Apparently I didn’t practice the last bit right. Well, I did it somewhat right, but I muffled the highest (in tone) string with my fingers when I strummed the lowest string. Which my teacher has now forbidden me. Since then, I have been struggggggling to find the right string when I have to strum the low string with my thumb.
Anyhoo.. he also gave me a new rhythm to practice. Which is the one in the vid.
Hobbies
I have a new hobby! Playing the guitar!! Or trying… I started lessons a couple of weeks ago.. had 2 lessons so far and I’m really enjoying it!! I bought my guitar a couple of weeks back and have been practicing almost every day since. Youtube is mighty helpful, but with real lessons now it’s even more fun.
I’ve started practising a blues rhythm my teacher gave me today. My fingers are hurting pretty bad, so even typing is difficult lol. But I made a lil video of it

O yah. Next week I’m starting another new hobby: tennis! I joined the local tennisclub and my lessons are starting next week. Should be fun!
